How our UK recovery coverage works

Velocity coordinates recovery and transport through our own team and independent operators. Nationwide coverage means we can check suitable availability for journeys across the UK. It does not mean a Velocity truck is stationed in every town or that every vehicle can be collected immediately.

Send the pickup and destination postcodes for journeys in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. We assess the route and equipment needed before quoting. Where a ferry, island crossing or other special access is involved, tell us at the enquiry stage so feasibility, timing and costs can be confirmed.

You receive a quote for the agreed journey. The attending operator, equipment and estimated arrival depend on the job and current availability. Read more about how Velocity arranges recovery.

From a nearby garage to a long-distance return home

Local breakdown recovery

If you have broken down close to home, recovery may be to a local workshop, driveway or another agreed location. Give us the precise pickup point, vehicle condition and destination. A short journey can still require specialist equipment if the wheels are damaged or access is restricted.

Long-distance vehicle recovery

If the vehicle needs to travel further, confirm where it can be received and whether the destination has opening hours or an appointment. Include passenger and pet requirements before booking; transport for people is only included when specifically confirmed.

Planned collection and delivery

For a purchase, auction collection or garage transfer, tell us the preferred date and whether it is flexible. Our vehicle transport service explains the release, keys and handover details needed at both ends.

Remote locations and difficult access

A postcode alone may not identify the right entrance or a safe loading area. Tell us about narrow roads, gates, height restrictions, underground parking, soft ground or a vehicle away from a made road. Photos and a location pin can help when they can be shared safely.

For a motorway or major-road breakdown, the road number, direction and nearest junction or marker help identify the correct carriageway. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 first. See the motorway recovery page for the details to provide once safe.

We cannot confirm suitable availability from a town name alone. Exact vehicle and access information helps avoid a failed collection and lets the team provide a realistic quote.
