24/7 RECOVERY REQUESTS NATIONWIDE COVERAGE

VELOCITY STUDIOS RECOVERY & VEHICLE TRANSPORT

How much does vehicle recovery cost in the UK?

There is no single price that fits every recovery. The route, vehicle condition, access and equipment determine the work involved. Velocity confirms a fixed quote for your agreed job before you decide to book.

What affects a car recovery quote?

Distance matters, but a price per mile alone does not describe a complete recovery. A car that rolls freely beside an accessible road is a different job from one with locked wheels in an underground car park.

Pickup and destination
The route, journey length and access at both ends affect the time and equipment required. A long-distance return, ferry crossing or restricted delivery window needs to be included in the quote.
Vehicle size and weight
A small car, loaded van and motorhome need different capacity checks. Modifications, roof equipment and items carried inside can change the requirements.
Running and loading condition
Tell us whether the vehicle starts, rolls, steers and brakes. Locked wheels, collision damage, missing keys or low clearance can require extra loading equipment and planning.
Access and waiting
Height restrictions, narrow entrances, gates, soft ground and collection appointments can affect the job. A vehicle that has not been released by its seller or auction site may cause waiting or a failed collection.
Timing and availability
An immediate breakdown and a planned movement on a flexible date have different scheduling needs. The team checks suitable operator availability for the requested journey before confirming a price.

Understand the total, deposit and balance

Before payment, your Velocity quote sets out the agreed service, route, total price, deposit and remaining balance. The deposit is part of the agreed total; it is not the full recovery price unless the quote specifically says so.

Check any passenger arrangements, collection conditions and timing before accepting. If something is unclear, ask the team to explain it. A submitted enquiry or automated acknowledgement is not a confirmed booking.

See our customer terms for how bookings and payment work, and the cancellation and refund information before proceeding.

How to get an accurate recovery price

  1. Provide the registration or the vehicle's make, model, dimensions and weight where relevant.
  2. Share the exact pickup point and intended destination.
  3. Explain the fault or damage, including whether each wheel can move and whether steering and brakes work.
  4. Tell us about access restrictions, keys, collection times, passengers and pets.
  5. Send photos where useful and safe, then review the confirmed quote before paying.

The registration quote form, website assistant and WhatsApp can all collect your request. For a scheduled purchase or garage transfer, see planned vehicle transport.

What if the destination or vehicle condition changes?

Contact the team before the movement if the destination, access, timing or vehicle condition differs from the information quoted. Extra distance, waiting, additional equipment or a failed collection can affect the work required. Any revised scope and price should be explained and agreed.

A comparison is most useful when each quote covers the same job. Check the total journey, loading requirements and confirmed extras rather than comparing only an advertised starting price.
